Writer, columnist, radio host and amused observer of the way the wide world spins, Philippe Meyer deploys his unmistakable talents as a raconteur to probe and perform the texts and music of a Boris Vian, the multifaceted artist he has long been familiar with and a true brother in spirit. La prochaine fois je vous chanterai Boris Vian (Next Time I’ll Sing You Boris Vian) is a delicatessence of an evening, a tasty treat of linguistic tidbits, a feast of words and bon mots, the art of pastiche and tongue-in-cheekery for all.
Biography
After obtaining a PhD in sociology and some ten years devoted to research in the social sciences, Philippe Meyer joined the staff of Radio France, where he was a producer of several programs, notably “L’esprit public” for France Culture and “La prochaine fois je vous le chanterai” for France Inter. He also contributed to several radio series for France Musique. Meyer has performed in a number of shows on stage at the auditorium of the Musée d’Orsay and the Théâtre de la Ville, directs an annual cabaret show at the Comédie française, and has been a part of various musical reviews, notably at the Grignan Festival. In September 2018, he performs the one-man show Une histoire amoureuse de ma radio (A Love Story with My Radio).
