Biography

Yvette Siegert is a poet, critic and translator from Spanish and French. She is the author of Atmospheric Ghost Lights, selected for the 2021 Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship Award, and her debut collection, a winner of the James Berry Poetry Prize, is forthcoming from Bloodaxe Books. Her work has received support from CantoMundo, Macondo, Bread Loaf, Ledbury Poetry Critics, the National Endowment for the Arts, Arts Council England, and the National Centre for Writing. Her translation of Chantal Maillard’s Killing Plato was shortlisted for the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation, and her translation of Alejandra Pizarnik’s later work, Extracting the Stone of Madness: Poems 1962–1972, won the Best Translated Book Award. She is completing a doctorate in Medieval and Modern Languages at Merton College, Oxford.
