Biography

Serving as a translator from the French for several Slovenian publishers and theaters, Suzana Koncut is specialized in literature and the human sciences. She has translated a number of French-speaking authors, including Tahar Ben Jelloun, Rachid Boudjedra, Assia Djebar, Ananda Devi, and Abdourahman Waberi, classics of French literature, and works by Simone de Beauvoir, Claude Lévi-Strauss, Alain Badiou, and Jacques Rancière. Her work has garnered numerous awards, including the Prix Nodier from the French Institute of Slovenia, and the Prix Sovre for her new translation of Madame Bovary. In 2016 she was named a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government.
