Biography
The poet, translator, essayist, journalist, and composer Rodrigo Garcia Lopes was born in 1965 in Brazil. He has published a number of poetry collections as well as a novel, O Trovador (Record, 2014). His translation has mainly focused on the work of Martial, Walt Whitman, Arthur Rimbaud, Guillaume Apollinaire, Laura Riding, and Sylvia Plath. He was a writer-in-residence at the McDowell Colony, the International Writing Program of the University of Iowa, the Hermitage Retreat. His own writing has been translated into English, Italian, Catalan, and Spanish.
