Biography

Born in Brazil in 1977, Pedro de Niemeyer Cesarino is a writer, anthropologist, and research professor at the University of São Paulo. Taking shape around indigenous ethnology, his work explores in particular shamanism, cosmology, oral traditions, and mythology. He has published short stories and poetry collections, along with academic books and articles on the connections between anthropology, literature, and art. He has also published one novel, Rio acima (Companhia das Letras, 2016), while a second work of fiction, titled A repetição, is scheduled for publication by Todavia.
