Ondřej Novák

Ondřej Novák, born in 1982, is a Czech film director and screenwriter living in Prague. He is a graduate of the Torino ScriptLab and took part in the EAVE Producers Workshop. His first short film, Reconstruction (MasterFilm, 2018), follows the story of a teenager in a juvenile detention center awaiting trial for having assaulted a homeless man. It premiered in the competition section of the Locarno Film Festival and was nominated for the European Film Awards. He is currently working on the filmscript of his first feature film, Recognition, a project that has received the support of the Czech Film Fund and Creative Europe.
