Noemi Somalvico

Noemi Somalvico was born in 1994 in Solothurn. She studied creative writing and earned a Master’s in Contemporary Arts Practice at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). A regular guest lecturer at the Institut littéraire Suisse in Bienne/Biel, she also leads workshops in creative writing and founded RAUF Bern, a feminist writers collective. She is the author of two widely acclaimed books, published respectively in 2022 and 2024 by Voland & Quist in Berlin, the novel Ist hier das Jenseits, fragt Schwein, a work that shifts constantly between the poetic and the fantastical while exploring friendship, the search for meaning, and the boundaries between the known and the unknown; and the short-story collection Das Herz wirft in der Brust keinen Schatten.
