Monique Kountangni

Born in 1976 in Brussels, Monique Kountangni earned her MA in translation, before staring a career in human resources that would last some ten years. She then specialized in literary translation at the University of Lausanne, publishing her first poems around this time in Swiss-French literary reviews, including “Brut de traduction,” which was published in 2020 in the Swiss literary review La cinquième saison. The poem delineates the author’s view of literary translation as a true souffle de vie, a breath of life.
