Biography
The French novelist and short story writer Marcus Malte was born in 1967 in La Seyne-sur-Mer, France. His first published work, Le doigt d’Horace (Fleuve Noir, 1996), was the start of a fruitful career that has produced a long list of books for both adults and young adults. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and literary prizes, including the 2007 Grand Prix des lectrices Elle du roman policier for Garden of love (in French) and the 2016 Prix Femina for Le garçon, both of which are available through éditions Zulma. The latter has been translated by Emma Ramadan and Tom Roberge as The Boy (Restless Books, 2019). Last year he published a fictionalized autobiography titled La pentatonique du coeur (Buchet-Chastel), which features two of his oldest passions, movies and music.
