Kailee Pederson

Kailee Pedersen is the author of the queer poetry chapbook Pastorale (Burnside Review Press, 2025) and the novel Sacrificial Animals (St. Martin’s, 2024), which was named one of the New York Public Library’s Best Books of 2024 and a finalist for Best Horror at the 2025 Libby Book Awards. A graduate of Columbia University with a B.A. in Classics, she was adopted from Nanning in 1996 and grew up in Nebraska. She resides in New York City, where she works as a software engineer and opera singer. Her second novel, The Minimalist, is forthcoming from St. Martin’s in 2026.
