Biography

Born in 1975, Julia Fiedorczuk is a writer, translator, and researcher at Warsaw University. She created the program for the experimental School of Ecopoetics at Warsaw’s Institute of Reportage. She has published novels, essays, and collections of poetry, the most recent of which, Psalmy (Fundacja na rzecz Kultury i Edukacji, 2017), was awarded the Szymborska Prize. Her work has been translated into over twenty languages, including English, Spanish, Swedish, Serbian, Ukrainian and Georgian. There exist several collections of her verse in English translation, Oxygen: Selected Poems by Julia Fiedorczuk (Zephyr Press, 2017), Orion’s Shoulder (Columbia University Press, 2018), and Psalms (The University of Wisconsin Press, 2023).
