Biography

Born in 1960 in Essen, Germany, Frank Heibert is a literary translator working from the French, Italian, Portuguese, and English into German. He studied literature at the Free University of Berlin, spent one year in Rome and a second in Paris, and wrote his PhD thesis on puns, wordplay and their translation. From 1990 to 1995, he codirected the publishing house zebra literaturverlag. He writes literary criticism, serves as the host of events focused on literature, and heads translation seminars. In 2006 he published a novel with Hoffmann und Campe. His translations have garnered several prizes.
