Biography
Fanny Vaucher is a comic book author and illustrator based in Switzerland. She earned an MA in literature from the University of Lausanne before studying comic book and graphic novel art at the School of Applied Arts in Geneva. Joining text and drawing, her two passions, she has published a dozen books, either alone or in collaboration. She has illustrated in particular Le siècle d’Emma (with Éric Burnand, Antipodes, 2019), a graphic novel that uses a feminist perspective to follow the lives of a Swiss family throughout the 20th century. Un volcan par jour, published in 2023 also by Antipodes, is a graphic narrative exploration of magmatic mountains. Aiming to combat sexism in the world of comic books and graphic novels, she co-founded the women illustrators’ collective La Bûche in 2015.
