Eleni Sikelianos

Eleni Sikelianos was born and grew up in California. She is the author of nine books of poetry and two hybrid memoirs (The Book of Jon and You Animal Machine). Her writings are deeply influenced by ecopoetics and family as well as animal lineages, and have been widely anthologized. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including two National Endowment for the Arts Awards and two Gertrude Stein Awards for Innovative Writing. Her work has been translated into numerous languages.
