Biography
The French writer, translator and philosopher Arthur Lochmann was born in 1985. He left academia to learn carpentry and exercised this skilled trade, alongside his translating, for fifteen years between France and Germany before seriously taking up writing. He has since published La vie solide (Payot, 2019) and Toucher le vertige (Flammarion, 2021), which have been hailed by critics. From his experiences moving between different professional worlds he has drawn a body of work that is both philosophical and narrative. Translated into several languages, his books explore the fabric of the body and the mind, and the connections between gestures and thought. Neither title is available in English translation at present.
