Alex Niemi

Alex Niemi is a writer, poet, and translator from the French, Russian, and Spanish. In 2023, her work was singled out for support by the National Endowment for the Arts and nominated for the Best of the Net Anthology. That same year, her translation of Anna Glazova’s For the Shrew (Zephyr Press, 2022) won the AATSEEL Book Award and the Heldt Prize, both for best translation from a Slavic language. Her texts and translations have appeared in a range of publications, including Asymptote, the Columbia Journal, and the Los Angeles Review. She is likewise the author of a poetry chapbook, Elephant (dancing girl press, 2020).
